The Best School EVER!

"New town, new school," an eighth grader said. "Bet you have no idea what a 'neophyte' is!"
"Yes I do," I told her. "A neophyte is basically a newbie, like I am."
But the eighth grader was no longer paying attention. She started talking to her friends.
The bell rang. Great, I thought. Just great. Time for class. I walked in there slowly. I sat down in a random place by the window.
A man walked in. "For those of you who do not know me, I am Nick Armstrong." A girl raised her hand. "You mean-the Armstrong?!" The man laughed. "No, not the man who walked on the moon. That was Neil Armstrong." The girl put her hand down. "Oh."
"Kids, we are going to travel in time!" Everyone burst out laughing. But then, he showed us a door concealed beneath the floor. We walked into it, and saw a chamber. There were seats there. Each student sat into one. Suddenly, the chamber opened up into a portal. Then seat buckles automatically appeared. After that, the seats changed into a roller coaster, and we sped right into the portal-opening!
Soon, we were at a harbor. "This is Plymouth. In 1620, the Mayflower landed here. You will get to interview one person at this scene." I got to interview a girl named Remember Patience Whipple. I thought this was some kind of a joke, so I tried to trip her up with words like "Mom" and "Dad". Then I realized it-This wasn't working. This was real!
In the art class, I began to literally Draw to Life!
In science, we shrunk and looked in other people's bodies!
Maybe fifth grade wasn't so bad after all!

School for Nymphs

Like Harry Potter? Then you will like this!

There was once a man that walked out of the River. People were astounded! The man hadn't even walked in!
This man's name was Firvarr, and he was the headmaster at Parsifalis' School of Training and Learning.
Firvarr was off to fetch Karisklusmos (pronounced: Care-iss-clues-MOSE) , a little male nymph who was just about ready for school.
He found him, knee-deep in the water, swimming. Come, Karisklusmos, come, Firvarr thought. Being a nymph, Karisklusmos heard his thoughts, and swam over to him. "Yes?" asked Karisk (let's just call him that. His name's long, trust me, I know) "Come with me. Don't worry-your parents know me. See?" said Firvarr. Sure enough, Karisk's parents were ushering him to go on.
"Okay," thought Karisk.
He was put on top of an eagle, and he flew to the Black Forest.
Along with the other students, Karisk was in a ceremony to discover what kind of nymph he was.
Now just so you know, there are more nymphs than dryads, naiads, hamadryads, etc. There are nymphs of the eagles, nymphs of the sky-the point is, the staff at Parsifalis' must recognize what nymph they are. The students have to chant an incantation, and then they show their true form. Depending on what this form is, the staff will give out a schedule showing what classes they will be assigned to and what time they take place.
Anyways, I just wanted to show you that. Bye! (And have a happy ending-all of you!)

Spread a Little Magic: Part 2

This is the second part of Spread a Little Magic.

Part 2:

Karen got up and introduced herself. "My name is Karen."
"Welcome! Come here, Angel!" A beautiful young baby was given to Karen. "That's you. When you were born." Karen laughed. "Me? You must be joking!"
"Karen, I'm not joking. You are one of The Others, given the ability to bring magic into the world and work miracles and aspire the world to follow their dreams, alongside your grandmother."
"My grandmother? What does she have to do with anything?" Karen gulped because it was obvious that she was hiding something. "Karen, I know your grandmother. As an Other she did not die-rather, she passed through that world into this. And look! Here she comes!"
The grandmother walked up. Karen was astounded.
"Come with me, Karen, we have work to do!"
As they rode in the sleigh, Karen asked her grandmother if she was the one who said "I love you."
The grandmother answered by saying "Oh no, I didn't say it. I expressed it. Words don't mean anything- it's your expressions that matter the most. And that is true magic, don't you think so?"
And so off they rode. And this Christmas-you just might see Karen working miracles, and making other people's dreams come true.
The love that lives inside us is true magic-don't you think so?

I made this story up, though I admit I got the idea from The Legend of Holly Claus-written by Brittany Ryan! Good-bye-and remember: Try to spread a little magic!

Spread a Little Magic

This is an account of "Spread a Little Magic", a child's tale, translated from the Swedish by Kyle.

Part 1:

Christmastime was drawing near.
In the midst of all the hubbub, little Karen was cold. Snowflakes fell down in this part of Sweden. Children were playing in the snow. But not Karen. Karen was a beautiful little girl, but was beginning to seem like her beauty was to go to waste.
Karen was depressed ever since her grandmother passed away.
Passed into an Undying Beauty. Probably was enjoying her happiness without giving a care about Karen.
She began to cry. Why was everyone happy-and not her? Suddenly she felt someone kiss her forehead. An angelic melody said "I love you."
Karen turned but saw out of the corner of her eye wings fluttering in the air. When she looked again she saw nothing.
"Does my grandmother miss me?" Karen asked herself. Someday, she knew she would learn the answer.
She thought she saw a sleigh. "Sinter Klaas?" she wondered (Sinter Klaas is the Swedish name for Santa Claus)
As the sleigh hovered over her, she grabbed it just in time.
Whoosh! Was she flying over oceans? That was impossible!
Finally, the sleigh stopped to a halt. "I am the patron saint of magic-I am Saint Nicholas!"

Ferimin

The Goodhearted Fae Folk,
O Hear us o queen!
The Emperor holds an Undying Magic!
O hear us! The present time has come!

-An excerpt from 'The Markings of the Scepter'

Here I shall reveal the the past of the mysterious Ferimin, a good-natured Fae, and now rules over Asgard.
He was born in 1775, during the Revolutionary War (that was actually started by the Fae and the elves). For reasons unknown, Ferimin was switched with a baby named Joseph. But when "Ferimin" was about 4 years of age, he discovered his true identity. Suddenly, when he was 8, he started doing strange things. REALLY strange things. He had dreams of the future, and when he woke up, the events he saw had already come to pass.
When Ferimin was 49, in 1824, he saw and heard the the Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy) And on that very same day, he was finally located. And there, he was appointed in the Alliance of the Fae.
184 years later, he met me. Ferimin, having overcome grief from the disappearance of Lieorel (you can learn about her in an earlier post) he met Tari, and fell in love.
After the Norse Gods and Godesses got kicked out of Asgard, Ferimin was the Ruler of Thunder and lightning in Asgard.
That's it. When I learn about Ferimin's adventures I'll put them on my next blog post. It is probably coming soon!

My Adventure: Dedicated to Lauren (Mom)

Dear mom,

I just want to show you my adventure, but before I begin, I must tell EVERY SINGLE BOY READING THIS THAT I DO NOT LIKE TINKERBELL!

My Adventure:

Ferimin, a faery, had a secret. He told me that I could reveal this secret to the public, and by "the public," I mean my blog fans.
Ferimin's secret was that his first true love, Lieorel, was waiting for him at Lorelay's rock. Ferimin was delayed by the elves (VERY naughty spirits) and when Ferimin came to Lorelay's rock (located in Germany. It's a real place. Look it up on the internet) Lieorel wasn't there, and he assumed she was taken away by other elves.
Later, Ferimin fell in love with another faery named Tari. But when Ferimin told me his secret, I decided it wasn't too late and so I took his secret as a quest.
Before I tell you my adventure, I'm going to have to tell you about Lorelei (no, I didn't say Lieorel)
Lorelei was a girl waiting for her true love at Lorelay's rock. But when her true love, a fisherman, didn't appear, she realized that he betrayed her and went off with some other woman. Sad and furious, she killed herself by jumping off the rock and down to her watery grave. But her soul became an ondine, an immortal water spirit. Lorelei would sing a song, and sailors on a boat sailing across the Rhine (a river that runs along Germany and Norway) would hear it, become absorbed, and become so ignorant of the dangers of the Rhine, they would go CRASH into Lorelay's rock. This is Lorelei's revenge.
See how both Ferimin's secret and the story of Lorelei are almost the same? Plus, Lorelei and Lieorel are anagrams, meaning that they have the same letters only switched around.
But to make sure, I went to a Library of Records in Faeryworld (a library with records and files) and sure enough, Lieorel and Lorelei were in the same spot. Not wanting to find out any other secrets, I went to Germany (using magic), taking Ferimin with me.
We got to the Rhine, and went to Lorelay's rock...

Lorelei saw us.
But she recognized Ferimin, and said, "Too late to apologize to me now, you brats!" With a wave of her hand, she transported Ferimin into a cage. "Now YOU! HAHAHAHAHA!" She tried to pour holy water on me (holy water disentegrates faeries, which was the creature she thought I was) But, because I was human and because you can't exactly spill liquid in water, it didn't work.
"Drat!"
With my magic, I unlocked the cage Ferimin was in, and we tried to explain to her what was going on. "See, we just want to-" Suddenly Tari walked in. "Ferimin! I was looking for you! But then you disappeared! Our wedding's tomor-Lorelei?"
Lieorel, Lorelei, whatever you want to call her, was in a rage.
"We just wanted you as a friend!" I said quickly. "LIAR!" shouted Lorelei. With her magic, Ferimin, Tari, and I switched places with a sailor named Minifer, his wife Rita, and child Eylk (anagrams again!)
Then I thought of a plan. "We could sail to Norway! Yggdrasil (the tree with a spirit named Mimir gaurding it, the connection between Asgard, the place where the norse gods live, and Midgard, Earth) could take us to the chief god Odin, who knows how to read the runes, and switch us back!" I said. "But how do we get to Norway that fast?" asked Tari. Then, Ferimin and I thought up the solution. "MAGIC!" we shouted in unison.
We forced the boat to go to about 700 miles per hour (mph) In seconds, we were in the capital of Norway, Oslo.
We found Yggdrasil.
Climbing into the roots of the gigantic ash tree, Ferimin, Tari and I were in the midst of Rane.
Rane was an evil villain that betrayed the faeries. He was in prison, but we didn't know that he escaped. LORELEI, I instantly thought. She helped him escape. That was why she was ready for us at the Rhine. Lorelei befriended Rane, and trusted him to back her up in case we found a way to switch ourselves back-like going to Odin for advice. She tricked us.
"We meet again, Kyle!" (I was the one who arrested Rane in the first place.) "Will you surrender?"
"NEVER!" I shouted. "Oh, I forgot you were supposed to be a little hero! Just like Ferimin! But he's not going to help you now!" Rane uttered a spell, and Ferimin was no longer standing up. He was instantly bound tight with snakes, and Mimir (that spirit that guarded Yggdrasil) tackled him.
"DIE!" shouted Rane. But I wasn't standing in front of him anymore. The moment he leapt at me, I magically tranported myself BEHIND him. So instead of attacking ME, he attacked THE WALL. CRASH! He was knocked out.
Then I grabbed Mimir, and with a massive effort, hurled him at the wall.
I used my magic to untie Ferimin. We got Tari, who was a bit dazed from what she had seen me do, then ran into the portal between Asgard and the world you're reading this blog in this very moment.
We ran on a wild goose chase, with Mimir and Rane on our tails.
Running across the rainbow bridge to the kingdom of the gods, running past the guardian spirit Hjolnir, we made it to Odin.
Odin, who knew everything, said, "I know what you want. The spell is right under your noses. But I will be at your throats!" ANOTHER BETRAYAL! "Thor, god of thunder and lightning, I think you've got some electrocuting to do!"
Thor ran up, and threw a lightning bolt. But, luckily, he had a ridiculous aim, and when Rane walked in right that moment, the lightning bolt electrocuted him, and when we dodged, the lightning bolt bounced to Odin, and bounced right out the door to the rainbow bridge. Hjolnir dodged, and so did Mimir, who was right behind Rane. Entering Yggdrasil, the lightning bolt bounced on the walls, bounced right of the ash tree, and bounced straight into Oslo. CRASH! It hit a building, and every Norse person in it ran out, being chased by a crazy thunderbolt!
Meanwhile, back at Asgard, we fought Thor, and we looked for the spell. Then we found it. See, when Odin said "right under your noses," I guess he meant, well, RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES. Because the spell was written on the FLOOR, right at the spot we were standing before.
Ferimin recited the spell in English, and I repeated him in old faery language. Suddenly we were back in Lorelei's lair, and the real Minifer, Rita, and Eylk were stuck in Asgard.
We made a run for it.
Ferimin, Tari and I swam out from under Lorelay's rock, and we found Oslo in total CHAOS! Everyone was running from the thunderbolt Thor had thrown from earlier.
"We've got to get out of here!" I shouted, hiding myself along with my friends in the ensuing crowd.
Suddenly Ferimin caught the lightning bolt, and with magic, didn't electrocute himself!
The whole of Faeryworld made it there just in time. But, as they took us back home, they didn't catch Lorelei, Rane, or any of the Norse gods. But, with a bit of luck, I'm sure they'll find them, just as they found us, as they are still on the run, and "right under their noses!" I'll spread the news when they are all in faery prison.

THE END.

Think About It...Norse/Icelandic Legends

I'm going to relate some norse legends with christianity. It may be weird, but I'll try to get my point across.
First of all, there was Sigmund, a man sent by Odin, the Chief norse god. He was brave, fearless and strong. Then he up and died and the only trace left of him was a magical sword. See, I think the magical sword could be like Eve's faith, once she saw the tree of the knowledge of good and evil God told her not to eat. Her faith was broken immediately.
Then Regin, the dwarf, tried to rejoin the sword to use it for evil, just like Satan the Serpent did with Adam's faith. Sigurd (Sigmund's child), like Adam, was tricked into killing a dragon that was Regin's brother. Sigurd was ashamed.
But later, Regin was defeated. (You can learn much more about the legend in Wikipedia. Just look up "Ring of the nibelungs") This is like how Jesus, at the Cross, at Calvary, at Golgoth died and defeated the devil.
So the lesson of both stories would be dealing with obedience, not to stray away like a lost sheep.
That's it. I just wanted to show you what I thought.
